Alexander Fromm founded our company in 1923 in a small storefront with four employees. Over the last 100 years, Fromm has stood the test of time, becoming a leading electrical supply and services company in the Mid-Atlantic region with nine branch locations and more than 120 employees.
During this time, three generations of family ownership have preserved the core values of our founder: an unwavering dedication to customer experience; an in-depth knowledge of the electrical industry; and a commitment to give back to our local communities.

| 1958 | Expansion in Pennsylvania | Fromm acquires Silvers Electric Supply in Reading, PA. |
| 1960 | Reading Business Grows | Reading branch expands into a four-story building at 4th & Elm Streets in Reading. |
| 1962 | A New Generation of Leadership | Alexander and Louis Fromm pass away; Bernie Fromm becomes President and co-owner with cousins Jules Fromm and Sandra Berman. |
| 1972 | More Expansion in New Jersey | Fromm acquires Flynn’s Electric Supply in Cherry Hill, N.J. |
| 1973 | A New Headquarters | A new Pennsylvania company headquarters is constructed at 2101 Centre Avenue, Reading. |
| 1981 | Pennsylvania and New Jersey Businesses Separate | Bernie Fromm acquires Reading, Pa. business from his cousins. Fromm joins Affiliated Distributors, a buying group dedicated to helping independent companies compete with national chains. |
| 1984 | Pottstown Branch Opens | Fromm acquires Pottstown Electric Supply in Pottstown, Pa. |
| 1991 | Michael Fromm Joins Company | Michael Fromm, Bernie's oldest son, joins the company. |
| 1994 | Lebanon and Souderton Branches Open | Fromm opens Lebanon, Pa. branch and acquires Apex Electric Supply in Souderton, Pa. |
| 1995 | Lou Fromm Joins Company | Lou Fromm, Bernie's youngest son, joins the company. |
| 1996 | Allentown Branch Opens | Fromm acquires Coleman Electric Supply and opens a new branch in Allentown, Pa. |
| 1997 | John Hanna Joins Company | John Hanna, future President and COO, joins the company. |
| 1998 | Michael Fromm Named President, "Rising Star" | Michael Fromm is named President & Chief Operating Officer, and receives National Association of Electrical Distributors (NAED) “Rising Star” Award. |
| 1999 | Schuylkill Haven Branch Opens | Fromm opens a branch in Schuylkill Haven, Pa. |
| 2005 | Expansion into Harrisburg | Fromm acquires Harrisburg Electrical Supplies, Harrisburg, Pa. |

| 2007 | Generational Succession | Michael and Lou Fromm acquire the company. |
| 2008 | A New Branch in Honesdale | Fromm opens branch in Honesdale, Pa. |
| 2009 | John Hanna Named President | John Hanna is named President & Chief Operating Officer. Michael Fromm becomes CEO. |
| 2010 | Bloomsburg Branch Opens | Fromm opens its ninth location in Bloomsburg, Pa. |
| 2023 | Fromm Celebrates 100 Years | Fromm celebrates its centennial anniversary. The third generation-led company operates nine locations with more than 120 employees and has become one of the leading electrical supply companies in the Mid-Atlantic market. |
| 2023 | John Hanna Becomes Shareholder | John Hanna becomes first non-family shareholder in Fromm’s history |
| 2024 | FrommConnect Services Division Launched | Fromm launches FrommConnect to help customers improve efficiency, reduce labor, and access automation and technical expertise. |
| 2026 | Leadership Transition | John Hanna is promoted to the role of CEO. Michael Fromm becomes Chairman. |
